Suicide Prevention Scotland

Suicide Prevention Scotland's new website provides information and links to a range of resources. This supports people experiencing thoughts of suicide, those who are worried for someone else, or those who have been bereaved by suicide.

Alcohol & Drugs Action

Our skilled and knowledgeable team provides advice to prevent harmful use of alcohol and drugs as well as person-centred support to help those with problems recover and live happy lives.

Aberdeen Foyer REACH course

A 12/14 week employability course open to any adult who is in recovery from issues that have held them back.
The course is open to people from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Currently the course is ran in Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Banff.

Aberdeenshire Drug and Alcohol Services

Aberdeenshire Drug and Alcohol Services have set up Step-In points in Banff, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Inverurie and Stonehaven so anyone wanting support with drug and alcohol use can get same day treatment. If you wish to access the service, you can drop in to the Step-In locations or will be offered an appointment on the day we get a referral.

Arrows – Drug and Alcohol Service (Quarriers)

Access point for all drug and alcohol services in Moray. If you require access to a service, this is your first point of call. Arrows offers assessment and referral to services that meet your needs, as well as information, support and guidance.

OCD-UK

Support and information for sufferers of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

One to One Deeside Counselling Service

Offers 10 sessions of free counselling, usually delivered as weekly appointments.
Open to those 18 and over, resident in Lower Marr (Deeside) area.

No Panic

A national organisation which helps people who suffer from Panic Attacks, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and other related anxiety disorders. Also helps those trying to give up Tranquillizers. Also provides support for carers.

SANE

A UK-wide charity working to improve quality of life for people affected by mental illness. Textcare allows you to arrange messages of support at the best time.

See Me

Scotland’s programme to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination. See Me is funded by the Scottish Government and Comic Relief, and managed by the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) and the Mental Health Foundation.

This service provides counselling for adults who are experiencing discrimination due to prejudice, or have been affected by hate crime. Free interpretation services are provided if your preferred language is not English.

RGU Student Counselling and Wellbeing Service

Provides advice to students on a variety of topics including bereavement and relationship difficulties.

Aberdeen University Support Services

There are a wide range of student support and information services, as well as friendly and supportive staff who are there to help.

Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP)

Many employers offer an EAP to staff to provide independent support and advice on a range of issues, often including an element of emotional support. If your company offers this scheme, your line manager or HR department will be able to give you contact details for the selected provider.

The Silver Line

Offering free information, friendship and advice to older people. Silver Line is the UK’s only free, confidential 24-hour helpline for older people and is available every day and night of the year.

The team at SSAFA Grampian is dedicated to helping veterans, service personnel, and their families, in the local community. Our commitment is to provide support with experienced, non-judgemental and friendly advice, as well as a variety of practical services that cover a range of emotional, practical and financial issues.

Forcesline

SSAFA also have Forcesline, a free and confidential telephone helpline and email service that provides support for serving (regulars and reserves), ex-Forces and their families.

RAF Benevolent Fund - Listening and Counselling Service

This confidential service supports people dealing with a range of issues, including bereavement, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress and loneliness. Any member of the RAF Family can refer themselves. Telephone line is open 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am to 4pm on Fridays.

Aberdeen Foyer

Aberdeen Foyer work with young people and adults to help them re-engage with their community, education and work. They provide one-to-one support and different types of learning and training courses to help you achieve your goals.

Cairns Counselling

Established to provide emotional support to adults in need. Provides a space where people feel able to talk with a counsellor about the difficulties you face in life, with no fear of being judged.

Self Harm Network Scotland

Provides free compassionate support, resources, and information about self-harm. Also provides support and information to friends, families, and professionals.

RSABI (Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution)

Provides practical, emotional and financial support to those working within the Scottish agriculture industry. Helpline and webchat available 24/7. Helpline includes offering a listening ear and RSABI can also help with support towards the cost of counselling.
